All 309,278 raw EST traces have been reprocessed using our novel bioinformatics pipeline, WebTraceMiner, which focuses on detecting in silico verified cDNA termini/ends.   cDNA terminus is defined as a set of diagnostic sequence features/elements detected in raw EST sequences that delimit the ends or termini of cDNA inserts, and therefore represent 3' or 5' ends of mRNA transcripts.   This assumption could be held true for most cases unless reverse transcription of polyadenylated mRNAs terminate prematurely.

Using our web-based Sequence Viewer, a user can exmine closely individual sequences for phred base quality, identified vector fragment(s) and cDNA terminal structures among others.   Our Sequence Viewer provides biologists with many useful functions, including nucleotide positioning, 6-frame translations, sequence reverse complementation, and imperfect (or fuzzy) motif detection and alignment.
