Single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is a small genetic change that occurs at single nucleotide level and results in DNA variation between memebers of a species. Currently, Chlamy EST-Genome-Browser houses 94,219 high-quality, putative SNPs (insertions, deletions or mismatches) that cover all 88 chromosomes or scaffolds, based on JGI Chlamy draft genome release 4.0. Among over 270,000 high-quality EST-genome mapping hits, we extensively tracked base differences (i.e., insertions, deletions or mismatches) between each individual ESTs and the genome sequences. Then, non-concatenated (i.e., single base) differences that have at least 5 EST occurances are identified as high-quality, putative SNPs. You can search through all the SNPs, examine relevant EST-genome alignments and their gene structures. |
