WebTraceMiner 1.2 (Current Version)

WebTraceMiner is a public web service for processing, and mining Expressed Sequence Tag (EST) trace files.   It allows users to customize processing configuration, upload traces online, initiate execution of base calling, quality trimming and identification of both putative and in-silico verified sequence features and visualize resultant data.

Proceeding with different web sessions, users can process the same set of traces using different configuration settings and explore results comparatively.   To our best knowledge, WebTraceMiner is the first freely available, fully web-based sequence processing tool that focuses on annotating 3' and/or 5' termini of cDNA inserts through ESTs.

WebTraceMiner works best with FireFox (version 1.5 or above).   Main features of WebTraceMiner (Version 1.2) are highlighted as following:
Identification of restriction sites and adapter/linker sequences in perfect and imperfect/fuzzy matches
Identification of single, multiple and/or concatenated restriction sites and adapter/linker sequences
Customizable detection of polyA/polyT runs in perfect and imperfect matches
Optional integration with a relational database (MySQL 5.0)
Identification of in-silico verified features from all putative sequence features
Robust data querying and visualization functionality using SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)
